Fr. Rick is the Chaplain working with Hospice Care and Gerontology at the Covington, a retirement community in Aliso Viejo, as well as other medical facilities in Orange County. He follows a vision of ministry from a family of mixed traditions of spirituality.
He’s had a rich and diverse career path from building schools and clinics in Ghana to location manager for major Hollywood studios and community service with government training in homeland security with L.A. County’s Emergency Operations Bureau.
As a priest, Fr. Rick continues his religious commitment by way of International Inter-religious Dialogue, and his work at the Covington.
Fr. Rick will talk about his background and training as priest specific to End-of-Life. He’ll discuss other cultural traditions that are similar, and personal experiences from these cultures; people’s mind set, fears and concerns about the after-life, and paranormal experiences;  Christian beliefs about the afterlife influenced both by Judaism and Greek philosophy; incorporating religious rituals with symbols that speak to one’s heart, and images of what happens when we die (doctrinal and cultural beliefs); communicating with the dead, how to pursue our empirical inquiry, what do these phenomena express or not express; near death experiences.
