Does God Control Our Lives?

I recently read a near-death experience book that portrayed the author’s life as a series of events directed and controlled by God–a traditional religious belief. That got me thinking about how seeing the same events from a different perspective can make a world of difference. It can literally turn a victim into a powerful spiritual force.

Many of us believe that God micromanages our daily lives. God decides what good events we will experience and punishes us for transgressions or omissions with bad events. This viewpoint is chock full of beliefs that we are cut off from our Creator, isolated, controlled by a being outside ourselves, and powerless to change our lives because they are dictated by someone else. In essence, we are victims of God’s whim. While in the afterlife, I learned that such beliefs are the result of human fear and superstition. And they can be corrected through enlightenment.

The “knowings” I received while living in the afterlife taught me a new model of our relationship with our Creator. I was shown that Source is an all-loving, and not controlling, immense intelligent energy field with emotions, imagination, and life of its own. Source has an innate personality or set of character traits that are immutable and constitute its “core” consciousness. In addition, Source has created within its own mind all of the personalities/characters that we call “souls.” We are those souls within Source’s mind; we are parts of Source. And we have been given complete free will to pick and choose the events of the physical lives of the creatures we inhabit. We either allow the host body to lead its animal life with us just going along for the ride, or, we manifest into physical reality what we truly and deeply believe about human life and ourselves within it.

So, because we are parts of Source’s mind, and we have the ability to control the actions and lives of the human hosts we inhabit (whether we exercise it or not), Source in a very limited sense does control human lives through us. The difference between this model of life, and the religious model, is who has the power. In the religious model, God is all powerful and we are powerless. The religious model assumes that the core consciousness of Source directs and controls everything in the physical world. In the model I was given in the afterlife, we ARE parts of God and are therefore powerful spiritual forces ourselves. We direct and control our own lives as Source.

Thank you for being open to the messages I have returned from the afterlife to share.

Saturday, April 13, 2013

1:00pm to 4:00pm

Orange County IANDS

Mari Kelley

NDE, Mari Kelley, Peace Corp, Uganda, near-death experience

Mari Kelley is a two-time near-death experiencer, once at 5 years old, the other at 44.  Prior to her most recent NDE, Mari made the decision to stay on earth and heal her heart from a congenital heart defect. In 1997, after heart surgery, she developed severe complications. When the paramedics reached her home, she was so unstable that when they tried to transfer her onto the stretcher, she collapsed unconscious and moved into the light.

Please join us as she shares the details of her story when she moved into the light, such as the ability to remember her pre-birth planning and soul contracts.

Mari is a registered nurse, certified nephrology nurse, certified Healing Touch practitioner and instructor, and Peace Corps volunteer in Uganda. In a few weeks, Mari will be returning to North Uganda to continue her work bringing nutritional sustainability via cows to the region where one cow can save a family. See this amazing woman’s 1.5 minute video below that explains the project and why it’s necessary.  The video was produced by filmmaker, Rich Martini, our guest speaker in December, 2012, on the topic of evidence that we may choose our lives in advance, the subject of his most recent documentary, Flipside: A Guide to Navigating the Afterlife.

SNEAK PEAK FOR MAY – Our meeting on May 11, 2013 will feature guest speaker Cristael Ann Bengtson, who had a luminous near-death experience which brought healing and gave her the gift of spiritual renewal. She’s also the author of Sacred Light, Spirit Eagle: My Visionary Life and Near Death Experience.

Reminder, bottled water will be provided.  Bringing a snack to share is on a volunteer basis. You’re welcome to bring lunch or a snack for yourself to eat during the meeting.

Also, be sure to subscribe to www.OrangeCountyIANDS.com, our website. There will be some overlapping of meeting notices, but otherwise, will offer all kinds of information and resources of interest.

We meet the 2nd Saturday of each month, from 1pm-4pm at Unity Church of Tustin, 14402 Prospect Ave., Tustin, CA.  Drive to the back of the church, turn left, and park. Enter the 2nd door you come to.

  • Each meeting contains a break half-way through, and afterwards, questions and answers, and discussion. There is no pressure to participate in a discussion.
  • Not everyone who attends has had a near-death or spiritually transformative experience. Everyone has their own reason why this group is of interest, and all are welcome.
  • We encourage a donation of $10 per person but no one is turned away.

All are welcome. It’s often a fun extension of the meeting where we meet at close-by Mimi’s Cafe. 17231 17th St., Tustin, (714) 544-5522.  Directions:  Leaving the church parking lot, turn right on Prospect.  At 17th Street, turn Left.  Get in right hand lane.  A few blocks down, just before the 55 freeway, you’ll see Mimi’s on the right.

We meet to talk about and share near-death experiences, questions about death and dying, and the latest information from NDE research.  IANDS groups such as ours can be found in communities around the world.

Deb Foster will tell the story of her NDE on March 9, 2013

Deb Foster will tell the story of her NDE on March 9, 2013

On Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, Orange County IANDS will present Deb Foster who will share her story of the day she gave birth to a healthy baby girl, but a few hours later, something went wrong. Deb died.  She’ll share her detailed story of going to “a different place” where she saw heaven.

Her story has been featured in newspapers, Guidepost, and Barbara Walters’ special Heaven, Where Do We Go, How Do We Get There?

She’ll be answering everyone’s questions afterwards.  Bring a friend, especially any animal lovers who wonder where their pets go after they leave this world.

Tom Michaelsen and other volunteers from the Sukyo Mahikari Center for Spiritual Development will be on hand to give ‘light’ to those interested at no charge. The light is known to revitalize the spirit, mind, and body, and will be offered from 11:45 am and ending sharply at 1:00 pm.  If you’d like to receive ‘light’, please email Tom at tomm7@earthlink.net to ‘rsvp’ so enough volunteers will be available.  The earlier you arrive, the better.

Kat Sanders, Near Death Experiencer Speaker September 8, 2012

Kat Sanders, speaker
Guest Speaker, Kat Sanders
On April 22, 2010, Kat Sanders was getting ready to go out for the evening with her husband, Steve.  Without warning, she felt excruciating pain, as if a knife had been plunged into her head.  The last words she spoke as she slid to the floor were “My head hurts very bad, I’m scared.”  It was a brain aneurism.

Kat will share her story of what happened leading up to her death, the details of her vivid near-death experience, and the influence it had on her life going forward.

Kat was recently featured on Biography Channel’s I Survived: Beyond and Back, and is the author of “Unstoppable Life”.

• Bring a sweater or jacket to the meeting, the room may be too cold for some people.

Does life have meaning? Meet Nick Vujicic, born without arms, legs

When dealing with issues such as life and death, or life after death, or life before life, the question often comes up about our life’s purpose.  I write a few blogs, RobinBarrBuzz is one of them, where today, I wrote an overview of Nick’s life.  He is now a motivational speaker, humanitarian, businessman, and was recently married this past February in California.

It includes a few short videos and pictures.  I believe that many participants and visitors of IANDS will find this of interest.
