In March of 1980, college senior Peter Panagore went ice climbing. He was a novice, and on his descent, became trapped on the side of the mountain where he died of exhaustion and hypothermia. In his minutes on the other side, he experienced hell, forgiveness, and unconditional love. Heaven was beautiful.
This impelled him to pursue a master’s degree at Yale Divinity School. His educational background coupled with 30 years of yogic and meditative practice and 20 years of professional work with the dying and grieving has given him unique insight, language, and perspective on heaven, God, death, life, love, beauty, and hope. He’s the author of “Heaven is Beautiful: How Dying Taught Me That Death is Just the Beginning“.
Peter was the guest speaker at Orange County IANDS on October 8, 2016 in Irvine, CA, but this recorded talk took place at the Life After Life Club in Laguna Woods, CA
